Curriculum

Through songs, rhymes, stories and dance The Music Train explores the fundamentals of music through play

while exposing families to many styles and genres of music.

We support all personalities & learning styles & believe early music education can be taught in an experiential,

not performance, based setting. We focus on whole child development, helping build physical, emotional,

social & cognitive skills while nurturing creativity & imagination.

Every child has the ability to sing in tune and keep accurate rhythm, The Music Train classes help to lay down the foundation for this musical learning and growth. Your kids will be singing and dancing every day. You just might too!

Sessions

Classes are offered in 8-week sessions for Fall, Winter and Spring as well as a 2 week Holiday session in

December. They run 45 minutes & include sing-a-longs; hands on time with a variety of instruments;

tonal and rhythm patterns; structured & free dance; rhymes and finger plays; lullabies; creative movement; prop play with scarves, parachutes and balls; rhythmic reading and parent education.

Each Session is themed around a different music genre and there are seven collections all together, so

you can take classes for 2 years with new material each time! Swingin’ Jazz, Classical Corner, World Rhythms, Irish Folk n’ Fiddle, Rock & Blues, Bluegrass & Americana, Holiday Songs & Stories

CD’s
Each session comes with a CD, except Holiday Songs and Stories, of songs and rhymes used in classes, to reinforce musical play, singing and dancing at home and in the car! Includes original songs and recordings by Anya Jane

as well as guest artists, both local and national.
